Answer: make sure that the air-fuel mixture is good in the carburetor
The carburetor of a chainsaw has two functions: starting the engine, and adjusting the engine speed. To start your chainsaw properly, first make sure that it is turned off and that the two carburetor screws H and L are tight. Start by unscrewing the H and L screws with one turn. Start the engine. If it stalls without having had time to accelerate, you must unscrew the screw L. Thus, you will release more fuel in the carburetor. If the chainsaw accelerates before stalling, the engine is drowning. There is too much fuel in the carburetor. Tighten the screw L. To accelerate the engine speed without it racing, you must play with the screw H. To enter idle mode, you must open the throttle stop screw. In this case, make sure that the engine speed is neither too high nor too low. You too, send us your DIY question.
